Outline: To begin this project, we had to choose a topic on which we wanted to create a book on, and whether we wanted to make a book based on A-Z or 1-20. For our letters or numbers, we had to find or create alternate imagery for the letter or numbers we were trying to depict.

Concept: For my book, I decided to make a book about football because my boyfriend played in high school and still loves to watch the sport, but I always have questions when watching with him. I also hope to pursue a career in sports design, so I figured some more knowledge on the sport would be helpful. The book is helpful for all levels of the sport, but mostly pertains to the NFL because the books NFL conferences and division, referees, and penalties. For my alternative type, I used images from the game of jerseys, referees, scores boards, and other sources. I choose green and yellow as the main colors because of their correlation to the football, the field and goal posts. The open spread of the book and poster created to advertise the book are proportional to a football field. I also used a grid, more so on the poster than the book, with grid in mind since a football field is also commonly know as a "grid iron." On the cover of the book, I used topics covered in the book to create a subtle sideline and yard lines and wrapper the design around to the back cover. I used the font "Factoria" because the square, slab serif is legible at all sizes and fits the sports theme.
