Out of a list of museums to choose from, I choose the Mutter Museum, a medical history museum, located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After doing research, I found that the museum was unique in a way that parts of the museum could be odd and creepy, but not in a scary, spooky way and the museum was very medical based, but not sterile in a way that a hospital can feel. The museum has permanent and special exhibits showcasing "collections of anatomical specimens, models, and medical instruments." I choose to go with a wordmark over an icon or emblem to give it a more professional feel. Although the museum is very focused on human anatomy, I decided mix the forms of the "M" and surgical scissors. I choose this because I didn't want to confuse pedestrians as to thinking this is a place where you could receive medical attention and I didn't want pedestrians with a weaker stomach feeling faint at the sight of the museums signs and advertisements. For text, I choose "Century Gothic" because of its taller, narrower nature that gives a subtle creepy feeling.
